Kate Wheatley is a Professional Massage Therapist, based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Kate trained at the Active School of Complementary Therapy in Loughborough and gained a BTEC level 5 diploma in clinical Sports and remedial Therapy.
Kate has a varied client base which consists of athletes recovering from injury to non sporting people with postural aches and pains brought on by the stresses and strains of daily living.
Kate is a keen sports person herself and understands the frustration of being held back by those recurring injuries. She is passionate about the benefits of sports and remedial massage and knows that the capability to restore balance and optimum efficiency of the human musculoskeletal system is a skill which can be achieved by a thorough knowledge of the human anatomy and physiology and the awareness to detect imbalances and use the right techniques to effectively target the area and get results quickly.
Clinical evidence is now building for the support of massage within the healthcare arena. Guidelines recently published by the National Institute for Clinical Evidence, recommends that patients with persistent, non- specific, low back pain have access to a choice of different treatments including massage, stating, “The effect of massage on patients with chronic low back pain lasted at least a year after the end of treatment”Source:- Federation of Holistic Therapists
